A commemorative coin to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala

Dec 23,2014 (LBO) - The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) issues a commemorative silver coin of 500 rupees to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala in recognition of his national service, the bank said in a media release.
The coin is to be officially presented to President Mahinda Rajapaksa by Ajith Nivard Cabraal, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka tomorrow at Colombo. A limited number of coins will be available for sale at a price of 8,700 rupees at the Economic History Museum, Colombo from tomorrow and CBSL regional offices at Anuradhapura, Matara, Matale, Jaffna and Trincomalee from January 2015, the bank said.
