Aug 24, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's information communications technology industry is to hold an international exhibition and forum in December this year to promote the use of IT among the public and corporate sector.
The INFOTEL 2011 Sri Lanka ICT Expo organized by the Federation of Information Technology Industry of Sri Lanka (FITIS) will be held during December 2-5, 2011.
Over 50,000 visitors and 8,000 students are expected to visit this year’s INFOTEL while there will be more than 200 stalls, a statement said.
The ICT Expo includes enterprise software vendors and trainers, vendors of cloud based services, virtualization, business systems, office automation and telecommunications.
INFOTEL 2011 is expected is to be one of the largest ICT/BPO career fairs too.
"Today, IT has become a core factor in any type of growth industry which can range from a very small business enterprise to that of a top corporate," said Wasantha Weerakoon, president of FITIS Hardware Chapter and Chairman INFOTEL 2011.
"We are hoping to position this year’s INFOTEL exhibition as a regional show, where we can position Sri Lankan products to the outside world."
